Abstract

|
Cheiralgia paresthetica is usually diagnosed by its typical symptoms which include numbness or neuropathic pain at dermatome of superficial radial nerve branch. A 49-year-old male who suffered from numbness, tingling sensation and burning pain at right thumb after applying tight handcuff, was diagnosed as Cheiralgia paresthetica clinically and was confirmed by temperature differences on infrared thermography. And also, infrared thermography was used for following up the results during treatment. Since small fiber neuropathy like Cheiralgia paresthetica is not easy to diagnosis using electrophysiologic study due to no motor impairment, thermography can be used as an accessory tool for diagnosing and following up non-invasively.
